主観的に「重要」と思う場合もあり、客観的に「重要」で影響力がある場合もある。英語の表現を覚えておきましょう。
「重要な」|「important」は主観的で一般的な語
important は「重要な」の意味を表すときに使われる最も一般的な語。
important は効果や影響力が大きく、価値が高いことをを表す語。
important は主観的で、話し言葉で好まれて使われる語。
陰で動く人がいる。
Behind the scenes, an important politician was pulling the strings. （裏では大物の政治家が糸を引いていたのです）
試合の前日。
He had an important game the next day and he was a bundle of nerves. （翌日大事な試合を控えて彼は気が高ぶっていたのです）
各地で必要になりつつある。

「重要な」|「significant」は客観的で注目に値すること
significant は主に書き言葉で使われる語。
significant は特定の視点から影響力があり注目に値することを表すときに使われる語。
significant は統計に基づいて客観的に述べるときにも好んで使われる語。
