「さがす」|「search」「explore」「look for」の違いと使い方
「さがす」対象は警察の捜索のこともあり、未知の領域で何かを探すこともある。英語の言い方を覚えておきましょう。
「さがす」|「search」は集団で時間をかけ捜索
search はしばしば警察などが集団で時間をかけて捜索することを表すときに使われる語。
こんな事件もあった。
The police carried out a large-scale hunt all over the hills in search of the escaped criminal. （警察は逃げた犯人を捜して大がかりな山狩りを行いました）
捜索願。
The parents asked the police to search for the missing daughter. （両親は失踪中の娘の捜索願いを警察に出しました）
かつて冬の北太平洋では海難事故が多かった。

explore は未知の領域などを探索することを表すときに使われる語。
生命誕生。
It is very important to explore the origin of life. （生命誕生の起源を探ることはとても面白いことである）
夏の一コマ。
Last summer the boys went on a cave exploring tour in the country. （昨年の夏、少年たちは田舎の洞窟を探検するツアーに参加した）
動物の世界。
This program explores the unknown world of animals. (この番組は動物たちの道の世界を探ります）
「さがす」|「look for」は「探す」の一般的な語
look for は「探す」の意味を表す最も一般的な語。
求む人材。
The company is looking for a person who will meet these conditions. （その会社はこの条件にぴったり当てはまる人物を探しています）
ペット行方不明。
Our entire family wandered about the park looking for our lost cat. （いなくなった猫を捜して家族総出で公園を歩き回りました）
